In case you missed my message from yesterday about the siege in Sydney, Australia here it is again -
Thank you all for your prayers. Sadly the end was not a good one with the gunman and two hostages dying at the end of it all. The gunman was an asylum seeker out on bail for a string of violent offences - haven't heard the full news yet but am sure it will be on all the channels today. From what I could gather the police stormed the cafe where it was all taking place and which was in total darkness. How awful for the families of those who died and so close to Christmas. My heart goes out to you Pixi as I know you can relate to this. God bless all of you and hug your loved ones close. I am sure those close to those who dropped in for their morning cup of coffee never expected anything like this to happen. Sad that terrorism has now touched our shores. I pray that Jesus' return is imminent. Hugs.
Please continue to pray for all those who were hostages and their families.
Prayers also for the people of Pakistan who lost so many children to terrorists. I can't comprehend or understand

None of us in the civilized world do. The world is in a huge mess. So sad. Hugs.

Don't know if it is more or less than in ancient times but it does not ease the darkness and lack of peace it brings. With technology today we just get news faster and more than in olden days and still only God can save us. My prayers are with you all!

---- about Jesus' return ---- in the meantime, we are all God's children --- be Jesus for your family, for your friends, for your community. The smallest act of kindness or concern will do it. And think of the ripple effect! What can I do today to be like Jesus?
Thank you for this lovely puzzle, C4J. My favorite time of year!
May your hearts and homes be filled with light and love and hope during this season and in the coming year - Happy Hanukkah!
Hanukkah, or Festival of Lights. In Hebrew, the word "hanukkah" means "dedication." The name reminds us that this holiday commemorates the re-dedication of the holy Temple in Jerusalem following the Jewish victory over the Syrian-Greeks in 165 B.C.E.
I know information on Hanukkah has been posted before but I thought it bears repeating.
Thanks for sharing the meaning, I always enjoy learning things about the Judaism.

My former son-in-law is Jewish. Plus I've looked up some information. Seems I've read somewhere that the candles also represent the lamps that the only had one day's supply of oil but burned for eight days.
Took the day off work today to take my 18 year old grandson to the oral surgeon to have his wisdom teeth extracted. The Dr said they came out easily- done in 30 minutes! And he's doing great this afternoon- ready to light the first candle of Chanukah and open a gift!
