I wouldn't mind having some fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. These look like they might be a bit large to dunk into the milk without breaking the cookies in half or taking a bite out of the cookie first. Anytime I eat cookies with milk, there ends up being this cookie sludge at the bottom of the glass, kind of tasty, but difficult to get to and hard to clean out.
People like that really get under my skin I don't like when people think they know everything. Great quotes!

"Green Card" is a wonderful movie. Yeah Gerard was good in that and Andie McDowell too.

Andie McDowell was also in it. It was about an arranged marriage between a French man and an American woman. He wanted to be able to stay in the US and work but needed to get a green card. She wanted a lovely old apartment with a garden atrium attached but had to be married to get it. A friend arranged for them to marry and they went their separate ways but then had to get back together because the immigration department was cracking down on arranged marriages. At first they cannot stand each other and the story shows how they fall in love. Just a beautiful love story. Hugs.

It is on DVD and was also on VHS format. It is worth seeing and another good romance movie is "Baby Boom" with Diane Keaton. Enjoy all - they are a better choice than the new Godzilla movie at he cinemas although I have been a fan of Godzilla (the original).

When my son was a kid and saw them kill Godzilla he cried, Go figure!

Nothing to figure out as I cried and was mad when they shot King Kong down all over a blonde who was never interested in him anyway. All she did was scream and scream and scream. But we later knew he had a son who saved the humans while drowning himself at the end. But those were my viewpoints when I was young.

We are fans of King Kong. They humanized him and it makes sense you were sad to see him die. Godzilla had no personality. He was just a killing machine but my son still felt bad for him. I'm glad he did but it was still surprising as he rarely felt sympathy for anyone else moviewise.

Well I don't know if I will be seeing the NEW Godzilla movie. By the time I get around to it it will be on DVD. The original Godzilla was enjoyable as those small Japanese twins(? ) interpreted why he was wreaking havoc. The following movies w/Godzilla with the gang Mothra, Gidhra, etc. were corny but amusing - we went to the matinee cheering them on. We also loved the "B" movies and those B&W sci-fi movie classics. "Klathu nikto barratta" or whatever it was - good thing the actress remembered the lines from the "Day the Earth Stood Still" and my favorite "War of the Worlds" oldies but the best!

I loved sci-fi as a kid. I liked the Blob and the Thing, Forbidden Planet and Flash Gorden. I used to play Flash Gorden with twin girls that lived next door. I was much smaller and younger so one of them would be Flash and I would be Dale Arden and scream and faint then Flash would scoop me up and carry me around.

When they "are ready" us older people will have to show them how to create an old fashioned card or written special letter. I save mine and when I feel down I get them out and read them over to perk me up. My niece is too young yet to do that but I am waiting for those SPECIAL drawings she will create when she is able to.

When my son was in grammar school he did an amazing car picture with cut paper. I have it framed somewhere. It showed genius and yet he never again did anything to show any interest in art and his drawing ability was nil. He just cut the construction paper freehand and pasted it into something near professional. I asked if anyone helped him and he said no.

Whatever my niece will do will be special and I won't expect her to continue if she does an in the moment picture. She is just enjoying growing up and exploring the world around her. I am glad she is a "country mouse" as I live in a city.

Oh my gosh! The other night I watched "An Affair to Remember" with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. I might cry if I think about it very long. It had a happy ending, but it sure got me "all wrung out"! Whew!

I remember that movie. I spent most summer mornings watching the oldies on channel 5. In the late afternoon channel 2 would show a movie. I loved I Married a Witch, One Touch of Venus, Androcles and the Lion etc. When I got older and could stay up late I would watch the 11 o'clock movie in the summer. I saw the best then--African Queen, Casablanca, the Nun's Story. But Saturday afternoon was the real hoot with Zacherly and his horror flicks.

I recall Androcles, and the great classics. We had a guy in a space suit with a big round helmet on. He was called Phoebes or something like that and then they would show those B movies. Ever see,..."The 50 Foot Bride"? It starred Lou Costello and Dorothy Provine and I believe he used a hoola-hoop for a wedding ring when he married her after she grew 50 feet tall. The preacher freaked out and ran when he saw her big lips coming down after he said "You may kiss the bride" Haven't seen that one anywhere and I don't believe it ever made it onto VHS format.

That's one Abbott and Costello I never saw. I remember their movies--soooo funny. I loved the one where they go to the south seas or was it Africa--they were in this grass hut so I'm not sure. They also had a show in the afternoons.

It only had Lou in it not his partner, and I think the town they were in was Candy Rock. Not sure which state. I know the pair was in Africa "Africa Screams" and A. & C go to Mars" too.

The Africa Screams must be the one I was remembering. There was one with a haunted house that was also very funny. Of course only poor Lou ever saw what the ghosts were doing and he couldn't convince Abbott it was happening.
but since t don't
i'll have to eat some ice cream
This is a "makes me hungry" puzzle don't you agree. These are my husband's favourite cookies. Must be the American in him :)
