Been there twice. Wouldn't mind going again...it's driving distance from us.
Hoping there are wonderful things driving distance from you and that you get a chance to see them all.
It's not driving distance from me but I've been there 2 or 3 times. Long ago. It's built up quite a bit since I was there, but the falls are wonderful. I have fond memories of being there with my parents and my grandmother.

Been many places--Iceland was wonderful. Also my trip with my sister to Sweden to look up ancestry. Been many places on HollandAmerica ships that were wonderful. Glad I did it when I was younger--couldn't do it now.

With the infections going around on cruise ships you wouldn't want to even if you could, I think. I have never been tempted to take a cruise. I don't like planes either but you have to choose one sometimes.
I was interested in Iceland until a friend showed her photos and it didn't look interesting at all. Perhaps that she went out of season and was not able to circle the whole island makes a big difference. I have seen other photos which looked spectacular.
I think if you like eating fish it might help. I don't, except salmon. I love waterfalls and Iceland has some beauts.
I'm glad you got to go traveling when you could and enjoyed it. I have never been to Germany or Ireland--my two ancestral origins.
It must have been nice to have a sister to go with.

I'd love to see Iceland, elijah. And Sweden, too!

When I went we did the "ring road" as it goes around the edges of Iceland. Very different from the city parts and very interesting.

You'd have to pay me a billion dollars to go on a cruise now. I went on two with a friend of mine and it was fine, but I won't do it again. Lots of time cruising and not much time touring. Lots of people like cruises for the food and the activities.
I can get just as good food on dry land. I prefer touring and seeing things. Also seasickness during bad weather is a real drag.

I'm over cruises! However I had a good time when I went on them. Talking to different people was very interesting. Now, at my age, ready to stay very close to home.
