They really what they say oil pastels, did some work with them when I was taking adult class. They are a little different the regular pastels. I enjoyed working with oil or water colors. Most of the pictures in the house are ones I've done, enjoying doing landscapes & florals.

Many of my wall hangings are needlepoint that I did.

Isn't fun to have something you have done on the wall. I've done a little needlepoint just small things. I enjoy to do cross stich if I'm doing hand work. Have a couple framed & hanging; one down stairs dinning area & one upstairs in my sewing room.
I'm not sure, but I don't think this is chalk. The puzzle description said it is oil, but I've never seen it in this form before. An artist I am not, so does anyone out there know???
I agree, it does not look like chalk. There are no flaky edges. The tips have very defined flat parts and chalk would not be so 'tight and smooth' are the only words I can come up with right now.

Don't think that this is oil either. It could be chalk but it looks more like crayon to me. After they put it on paper the artist could have taken an instrument to make this pattern. The markings in each color.
