This makes me remember a drink called, "Orange Julius". It was extremely popular when I was a teenager. It had a supposedly secret recipe. Does anyone know whether the little shops that sold it are still in existence now in 2013?
I remember the name but do not know if it is still around.

I remember them as well. I looked them up and they are still around but they are now combined with Dairy Queen.

Thanks! I should have done that. When I lived in Colorado (in the 60's! ) there was a Dairy Queen that had butterscotch sundaes to die for. Since then, sorry to say, I have found them to be dirty and not very popular--second rate (including food) places. I'm sure there are good ones somewhere, but I don't know where. The one that used to be in my current town has closed. I never tried it.

The Orange Julius' at Dairy Queen are nothing like the ones in the 60's. There was an original OJ in a mall in the Detroit area several years ago, about 15, that was great. But I haven't been there in years. I'll have to go sometime just to check it out.

I remember those stores. There was one in the mall. Google it and see. Haven't seen any in ages.
