Good morning to all puzzlers and C4J staff. Hopefully everyone has a better week this week. I wonder what country this doorway is located in? My first thought was one of the Asian countries, now not so sure? Any ideas gang? Trying real hard not to worry about my family ( Redding fire) still haven't heard from them. Either the phones are down or they have been evacuated. I am pretty sure our 40 acres burned as the fire burned small town of Igo and our land is just a short distance from there. Well could be worse, at least it's bare land other than our small travel trailer. Just hate to think of all my beautiful oak trees gone. The fire has given me something other than my crazy in laws to think about. Got another e mail from mother in law, now she is blaming me for everything that happened. My hero Ed jumped to my defense right away. I sure love him so much, even more after 44 years. Hope you are all staying safe and please continue to pray for Malko and family, they need us and our prayers now. Everyone try to stay safe.
My heart goes out to all affected by the Ca. fires. We live between the Yosemite and Red Bluff fires--the smoke is getting worse with no relief in sight. Many prayers to all.

Read your post darambo and I could feel your frustration and anxiety. Hope by now you've heard from your family and I'll include them in my prayers asking the Lord to keep them safe. Sorry about your land and travel trailer you fear you've lost near Igo, too. That's beautiful country, and will take at least a decade to recover. I understand five lives have been taken by the Carr Fire. Awful. We're still breathing smoke from the Cranston Fire. It's 59% contained now.

Funfornow( love your name ), LuvsWesterns and Pixi thank you for your kind words. Finally heard from one brother, my sister and my nephew who live in my Moms house they are fine for now, except extremely heavy smoke. They lost their phone signals. Still no word from my 2 other brothers. Six lives cofirmed lost, the last one was a man who had been told to evacuate, but he wouldn't. Sorry he lost his life but he should have left, did he think the deputies were risking their lives for the fun of it? Funfornow hope you are staying inside and have no breathing issues, We are also covered in smoke as we have several fires burning north and south of us ( central Oregon mountains ) and thunderstorms predicted for the next two days. Think we will pack some emergency bags for us and the dogs, can't for the cats as they are feral and I don't think they would travel well. Would break my heart to lose one of them though. If our land and trailer burned, oh well, at least we didn't have our house built there and no one got hurt. Thank you all for the prayers, I know they helped I can feel the peace inside of me. Akan they are very toxic ( funny thats the way I describe them also ) We tried so hard to help her with everything, Ed did all the maintenance on her house and cars, guess she will have to pay someone to do all that now as her drug addict son is incapable of of doing anything except lying and stealing. Sorry I'm trying to take the high road and not stoop to their level. Ed is a true sweetheart and I think I will keep him for another 44 years lol ;-D. Pixi my first thought was China also. Prayers to everyone effected by fires where ever they may be. Everyone try to stay safe.

Lots of lovely colors. So many other countries include lovely color schemes as a matter of course. In the USA there isn't much use of color. Now and then folks with older houses with fancy mouldings will find some pretty combinations to paint on them but they are exceptions. Our house is very ho-hum alike to many in the neighborhood. We were in a bind for time and didn't look around much when we bought it. We could afford it; it was near a lake and empty so we could move right in. It would never have been my choice otherwise. I like old farm houses with a porch and a second story...and out in the country. We have a ranch and the garage blocks a view to the back yard so it feels very enclosed although the bay window gives a pocket view of the lake between houses and wires across a busy street, three yards and another street. We will never move as it costs too much in time, energy and money and we are secure in an area that seldom gets severe weather. There aren't many places any more that are. All the picturesque areas seem to be prone to catastrophes. I should be thanking God but I keep dreaming we are back in our old farmhouse in the mountains on a river.
I pray for us all to be thankful for all the good things God gives us in the present and not look back in sadness for what we can no longer have.
