Bonjour a vous aussi, jajac. These would be great with raspberry jam.

I love orange syrup on my pancakes and waffles. I make it from the syrup left over from making candied orange peel.

I usually have cherry or raspberry preserves and butter on pancakes. Someone I used to know thought that was weird until she tried it - then she started eating pancakes with peanut butter and jelly.

The PBJ pancake sounds kinda weird but when you think about the fact that a pancake is a type of bread it makes more sense.
My sentiments too, elaine, exactly! I like the butter and syrup also. Nightmare (above) says that current berries make him/her "pucker" (like maybe cranberries would? --I'm guessing). Maybe one of those very fancy things with strawberries and whipped cream might be great
altho' I can't remember ever trying one.
I just had an inspiration that might be good. How about raspberries soaked in Chambord Liqueur and some raspberry syrup? This works fabulously on vanilla ice cream, why not waffles (better than pancakes)?

I have had currents, my mom loved them, give me butter and syrup, too. And a big glass of milk.

This is a very pretty picture. A bit late for breakfast, but pancakes for tomorrow sounds good. Just have to have them with butter and maple syrup.
Currents, we did grow them in our garden when I was young, but we made syrup with them. Added lots of sugar and let them seep. Then we turned the syrup into a liquor with gin. :) Great when we had colds. :)
Starrphyre has a good idea, Chambord Liqueur, raspberry syrup, vanilla ice cream on the pancakes, add a little whipped cream and you have desert. :)

Yup, tomandray, it is a great dessert. It really impresses the guests. Don't forget the frozen raspberries and don't confess how easy it is. I even bought ruby-colored dessert glasses to serve it in.
