These are "doilies" that are cut from paper and are used in Mexico and Central America for celebrations. The people, usually women, put them over lines that are strung across streets, buildings, or rooms in homes. They are very festive and quite pretty! Have a blessed and safe day, everyone.
Boy haven't seen the word doilies in ages. My grandmother use to crochet them and taught my mother guess that is how I learned it. Grandmother was from Lithuania.

Thanks for that info! I was sure they were doilies. Reminds me of the paper snowflakes we used to cut out in elementary school. I tried to make some the other day and either my creativity is gone or I was less demanding in elementary. Maybe both. LOL

Orinoco, patterns for paper snowflakes can be found online. I've made some over the years for our house at Christmas time.

If the paper isn't thick you can get some really good results with pointy nail scissors.
