I agree about naps. However I do take them when I can. There are some afternoon radio programs that I like so I listen to them--I think--at least a little. Sometimes I have one of my cats that rests with me.

My cat died this morning. He's been dying all week and I hardly left his side. He was such a good companion to me, I tried to pay it back somehow. I was up with him, off and on, all night last night. I told him about every cat I had throughout my llifetime, and told him they would be there to play with him at the Rainbow Bridge till I could join them all. That seemed to relax him some, and he breathed his last this morning. After my husband and grandson buried him in the backyard, I slept all day long. I'm at peace now...
Hugs to all you cat lovers out there...

I cried reading this. Our cats are so lovable and give us such joy. I know that you are at peace now knowing you did what you had to do. Blessings to you.

I am so sorry, Joyce. I love cats, but am allergic to them so can't have them in my house. I lived in a very small town and kept a feeder outside. I had every stray cat in town visit me every day. I loved it.
I had a piece of carpet in front of the feeder for them to sit on. One day I looked out and one was at the feeder eating. behind her in a line were 6 more waiting their turn. I am not kidding! When that one left they all moved up one

Thank you elijah and aussie. He had been sick for a long time, so I know he's at peace now.We went to a rescue shelter today and waited for a cat to adopt me. I had wanted a female with blue eyes and we found one, but she had an attitude. Then a little 4month old, black and white male came over to me in my wheelchair and took charge. He had been rescued from hurricane Irma in Houston. He was a little purr-ball who insisted on being petted. I melted. If he wasn't on my shoulder snuggling my chin, he was in the little basket under my chair. He was going with us whether we wanted him or not! There was no question...We brought him home and he moved right in like he had been here all his life. He found his food and water, then found and used his litter box. By that time I was back in bed. He came into the bedroom, jumped up on the bed, and snuggled up with me in the exact same way Harley used to. I'm in love again! Right now he's warming my feet...Hugs and a good night to all!

I am so happy for you. He found the perfect person. Cats are very funny--they DO know who will love them. Have fun with him. What are you naming him?

He came with the name Jake. It fits him! On his papers it said that he was rescued with his brothers Joey and Jeremiah. They had already been adopted. Funny thing...We just tried to introduce him to my grandson's border collie puppy that lives downstairs. The puppy was beyond excited to "greet" the kitty, so we had to restrain her. Jake was so bold that he strutted right up and was nose to nose with the puppy! He had to pull back quickly before being mauled with nipping teeth. I think they will be great friends once they realize each others' limits!

I just saw jmbps's posting....hahahaha! Some cats are SO smart! My uncle used to feed all the birds and squirrels in his neighborhood every day at the same time. The birds would line up on the electricity lines and wait their turn. (He didn't DARE be late or a scene from "The Birds" might be re-enacted! ) They would then come down and eat in order of species, smallest to largest! The squirrels even had their own area to eat so they wouldn't be rude to the birds! How Do they know???
Jmbps 1991, I disagree. This exquisite little bumbershoot should be guarding the most delicious, icy, heavenly, exotic beverage in the world complete with rum, pineapple, other tropical fruit, as well as other bottled South Seas concoctions!
