Australia here, Queensland lol - would be interested in knowing how many of our states and territory are on here. I know of one in South Australia and even though Aus looks small it is actually as big as the USA excluding Alaska but only six states and one territory. And of course we must include our cousins across the ditch in New Zealand, I know there are a couple of Kiwis on here. Hugs.

I used to live in Pennsylvania until I moved to Virginia. I prefer the southern style of life any day. I do miss my friends and family, but this is such a clean fresh start. Would not trade it for anything.

There are 2 more from Australia and 4 from New Zealand. I have been wanting to ask you something. I was doing "Janic International Word Find" yesterday and it was titled "Australian ways. There were several words that I don't know the meaning of so of course I thought of you. Here are just a few that have me puzzled. wowser, fair dinkum, shiralee, nong nong and drovers dog. Please educate me.

Fair dinkum = for real. wowser = a non-drinker who frowns on those who do. shiralee = swag or load. nong nong = someone who is two bob short of a quid hahahaha or a bit of an imbecile. drover's dog = big and ugly. But we don't all use those phrases lol - hugs.

Thanks for the education Aussie! Love learning new terms for things...and though I may be a drover's dog, and on occasion a nong nong, I am definitely not a wowser! lol

Australia is around 17 hours ahead depending on which part of the US you are in. Somewhere I made a copy of all the US flags and it has disappeared off my desktop lol. But will look up where you are and give you an exact time. Hugs.

Hi Aussie. I just looked it up and as far as I can figure you are 14 hours ahead of me here in Michigan. Just what part of Australia are you? I think my info was from Sydney. So right here it is 10:00 on Wednesday morning and you are at 12:00 Midnight on Thursday. Hope to "talk" to you again soon. Annie

Hdello Annie, I am in Queensland on the eastern side of Aus and it would be the same time zone as Sydney right now. However, we do not go on daylight saving, so things change then. We are all on the same time now.

Loved the definitions of some of the strange words, saw a couple that will be good to try out on hubby somedays!!!

I am also from Pennsylvania. I lived there most of my life after moving from NY State when I was 5. I now live in Virginia with just my husband. My kids and 2 of my granddaughters are still in PA. The other granddaughter is in West Virginia with her mother. Her daddy of course passed away when she 3 was three months old. She is now 6. My husband Joe and I could not stand being up there anymore so my 2 sisters invited us to move down here. It was the best move we could have ever done. Love VA better than PA.

Merry Christmas mamag15! Where in Virginia are you? My best friend lives in Riner, Southwest of Blacksburg in the West side of the state. He was born here in Michigan. I have lived in Michigan all of my life. We just moved this summer after living in one place for the last 47 years. It was hard to move away but we are only about 15 miles from there. My husband and I love it here. Much more opened and peaceful.

I live in the southwestern part between Roanoke and Smith Mountain Lake areas. I live in a small town and love t but it s growing thanks to the lake. I love where I am also. A lot different from Pa.
