My mother-in-law made an almost identical quilt. Would never have the patience to sew all those patches together. Don't even like replacing buttons on my clothes. Just not my thing!!
Oh ouch! headaches - ugh! I get severe migraines. Twice I ended up in the ER because of them.

Don't normally get migraines, but a couple years ago I also ended up in the hospital for five days with a severe one. They aren't fun..and I hope neither one of us has anymore like that!
A tough one but such pretty colors As cici1 said my mother made all my clothes Remember the print flower sacks that was my shirts she was really good at sewing and I was always proud to wear the things she made for me
When our daughter was born her great aunt made all of her clothes clear through 3rd grade and continued to make special clothes for her all through junior high. Due to her age she had to quit; however, for our daughter's wedding Aunt Mary, with her two sisters (grandmother and Aunt Emma) quilted a king size quilt from leftover scraps of every garment she had ever made since birth. All 3 women were at the wedding but passed away within 3 mos. Talk about a quilt to treasure!!!!!!
I love your story. My husband's grandmother made a small quilt for our son when he was born, she was 92 when she made it. All 3 of our children used it. It's showing wear, but it's a well-loved little quilt.
