I slipped with my zester and got a nasty cut on my hand that seemed to take forever to heal where it wouldn't burn everytime I washed my hands. I alternate between using my zester (like a little fork), a micro plane grater, and a julienne peeler.
Wonderful sliced lemons. Gives me a learning opportunity. I like that metallic slicer gadget. Wonder where I can get one? I have a cheese slicer on that order--only wider and with a wire, not a blade. Hmmm!
Starrphyre, if you have a Bed, Bath & Beyond near you, check there. Your local kitchen/cooking store may also have one - I think it's called a lemon zester.

I have one, but it has been around & I forgot where it came from, I like my old fashion had peeler (the one I use to peel apples with) just as well I feel it is easier to use with a light touch.

Also ebay is a great source for unusual kitchen tools. Hugs.

But when zesting a lemon (or other citrus) don't leave any of the white pith on the peel.

And don't EVER zest a Key lime. The zest is so bitter you won't be able to eat whatever you put it in. When making a Key lime pie and you want zest use a lemon (my preference) or a Persian lime. I use a fine grater to get zest.

Wow! Thanks to everyone who responded to my interest in a lime slicer! I went to Amazon.com and found many pages of all kinds of "Lime Zesters" including many graters, peelers, etc. I got a clue there for what I was looking for. They call it a JULIENNE PEELER. That is exactly the tool. They have many pages of it also! I can even choose the color of the handle! Now all I have to do is decide which one to buy.
I love to shop at Amazon. All that I have to do is make a decision on what I want, its cost, and in a few days the item is delivered to my home. Voila! They have my name & address and how I pay on file and I can buy an item with one click of my mouse. Again, thanks to all of you. I appreciate your ideas and comments.

Trynfindit...I have a fine grater that I usually too, unless I'm doing something that I want a strip, usually when I am using for more of a decorative accent.

Messed up...use belongs before too. Also the pith (white part) makes it very bitter, so agree with you. Don't get it.
