Oh gosh, dill pickles have been around for many many years like I have been. When I was a kid, every self-respecting butcher had a huge jar of dill pickles up on his display counter. For a nickel, he would fish one out for you. It was big and would last a kid a long time. Makes my mouth water to think about it. The nickel pickles weren't cut into spears however, but were whole. Yum.

Here I am again about, what, seven or so months later. I recently bought a jar of dill pickle spears. They are so very very sour they made my eyes water and my jaws feel funny! Yikes! I haven't tried any more than the one spear. They may sit there in my fridge forever unless I get brave!

I love pickles too but not much for the really sour ones though. If you can remember the brand you liked from the refrigerated section get those.
Wow! There sure are differences in pickles. I got a hankering for some dill ones (was it due to this puzzle? ). I bought a jar of 'em. They were so excruciatingly sour that I absolutely could not eat them! Crikies! I bought another jar, different brand, that were kept in the refrigerated section of the market. Delicious! I think I have only one piece left! Live and learn, huh? Think I'll go and get it right now!
I did it in 2014vi still love pickles
