Today it will be in the 60's. tomorrow in the 20. this is Missouri! I can hardly wait for spring. I am getting dirt poured on my hillside which I need but am losing a lot of flowers because of it. IT will be nice to have room to turn around, or back up on this hill.
A hibiscus flower behind your right ear means that you are single and looking for a mate. If the flower is behind your left ear it means that you are taken. It doesn't matter what type of flower you wear the rules stay the same. Isn't this from Hawaii?
Look this up and this is what I found: Botanical name - Hibiscus syiacus Rose-Of-Sharon Hardiness Zone: 5 - 8 Mature Height: 9-12 Feet Mature Width: 6-10 Feet Features: Large flowers in late summer (flowers may be single or double; white, red, purple or pink.

You're in the right family, todalove, but the althea rose is the rose of sharon. The hibiscus is in the same family as are a (usually) larger version called a swamp mallow.

My mom's name is Althea and last year was the first year it bloomed. I had planted it in my garden just for her. she's now 85 years old and has Alzheimers. Most of the time she does not even recognize my sisters. It's just too sad!

The Althea rose is another name for the rose of sharon. They are usually blue, white or lavender.

Count you blessing that you have her, my dad past away in his mid 70's and my mom at '83. I am the oldest left in our immediate family, my brother is 8 years younger, and we have our children and grandchildren.

There we 12 of us. We lost 1 sibling to colon cancer. All of my aunts and uncles are gone too as well as all of my mom's friends!
