Now you've gone and done it......I realllly want a big piece of my Grandma's pumpkin pie with big dollop of whipped cream on top. By the way anyone remember when Pumpkin bread became popular? I remember in the early 60's people using the metal coffee can we had then to make it in.
I checked. "The Coffee Can Baking Book" says that baking in coffee cans started in the early 1900s. I remember it being a 'fad' thing to do in, I think, the 60s and 70s? Don't know when pumpkin bread became popular.

Speaking of pumpkin bread, I have a great recipe for pumpkin chocolate chip bread. Even my daughter who doesn't like pumpkin loves this bread!

4 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 cups cooked or canned pumpkin
1 ¼ cup vegetable oil
1 ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
In a large bowl, combine the flour, cinnamon, salt and baking soda. In another bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, pumpkin and oil. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in chocolate chips,
Pour into two greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 60 to 70 minutes or until toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks.
