Used to like plums but haven't had them in a long time.Went to the grocery store today and got a few things in case Irma pays us a visit. Also got 4 bags of ice. It doesn't look good for Florida right now. Cancelled my trip to Connecticut next week. Say prayers for all of us in Florida. Looks like it might go up the middle of the state!
Love these ripe and fresh or in jam. Has anyone besides me had plum pie, the homemade kind. You sweat the juice by cutting the plums and pouring sugar over them before baking?
Sounds delish, I love plums anyway so yeah, I'd enjoy that pie!

Hi Rozina1010, Yes! We had plum trees in our backyard growing-up. Red, Yellow & Purple plums, they were all delicious. We made jam, rustic plum tarts, plum cakes and plum liquor from them. Delicious! :)) Plum pie, excellent! Wish I had some of those trees here, but I guess they wouldn't grow so well in FL as they did in CT. Oh well, have a great weekend. :) By the way, is it your birthday....I see the cake? :)

Yes I had a birthday and other other people too, as well as a retirement party yesterday evening. Lots to eat, great people to meet and a lovely ceremony of farewell to someone very special. I like the weather we have here for the past 2 days cooler and drier than those humid sticky days prior. Happy weekend all.
