Not in my color scheme, but love the pattern on this quilt. So much work goes into making something like this, which I wouldn't or couldn't do. Missed out on the sewing gene.
Same here Micki. I want to sew but I am afraid to for some reason. I have a brand new sewing machine still in the box from last Christmas.

That is so funny. Sounds like something I would do mamag15. We must be afraid of failure or something. Me, I'm just to busy doing stuff I enjoy and you can cop to the same. LOL

That is true about how much work goes into it.

I think I am afraid of failure. My sister can sew anything and has made clothes for her kids since they were little. My mom was also a seamstress. I think I fell out of that gene pool. I to am so busy doing other stuff. Good excuse, I love it!!

Whenever I cut into a new project I ask my husband, "If I mess it up, what will happen? " He gives me "that look" and says, "Nothing at all! " That gives me permission to fail--and the pressure to get it right comes off.
When I made my first quilt with a Leisure Arts teach-yourself pattern, I separated out the few scraps I had then into "colors I like" and "colors I don't like." I made each square first in colors I didn't like as a dry run, before cutting into the pretty stuff. It worked! I made all my bad mistakes on the ugly scraps before cutting into the good ones. It was a real confidence-builder for me.

That is a good idea orinoco. I have a lot of scrap material but now I need to find the time to do it, maybe after I am done with school.
Great news!! I made the Dean's list for my summer semester courses. I have been super stoked and wanted to share the good news with ya'll and thank you for your prayers when I needed them.
That is so awesome mamag15! With all that you have had going on in your life to be able to make the Dean's list is an amazing feat! I am so proud for you. God has blessed you indeed.

Congrats! That was one thing I was never able to do. One of my grandmothers was a secretary to the Dean at Stanford.

One can never rest on their laurels, mamag15. How quickly our past victories are forgotten in light of one less than wonderful grade. You can do it, you've already proven that. Now, don't let yourself down.

I agree with you nbl, and mamag never ceases to amaze me. Don't know how she manages so much in her life and she only has 24 hours a day as we all do, but some of us (me) don't put it to good use. Hugs to you both.

Thanks, nlbuchanan. I am already two days late with my paper. I reached out to my professor and she is working with me on it.

I am so glad your professor is willing to work with you. I'm sure she knows you can do the work and have just hit a small bump in the road. Keep pushing ahead. The goal is reachable and you will soon be there. God bless you for all the encouragement you give us by way of your success.
Well.......this is the longest it has taken me to finish a puzzle, but I did finish it......why do I do this to myself???????? Have a wonderful day and blessings to all of you!
It's the challenge, I guess. It was close to my worst time, also.
