These are lovely and very challenging to do. Sometimes when cookies are so pretty they don't taste as good as they look. I do like icing on cookies, though.
I csn't figure what cookies the folks below are talking about. These are just cutout cookies with icing. I don't see heart--they're socks and tere's icing on top which the website description even says so.

Well I did it while my pumpkin pie was cooking. maybe the think the stockings are heart shaped or same idea only heart shapes for valentines....whatever. Merry Christmas pixipixil.
No. 9 right now. Worked it in 48 classic. Thumbprint cookies. I've never baked these before but I printed out a recipe for them. I will have baked more varieties than I've ever baked but only one batch of each. When we were neighbors I used to make double batches of 7-8 different kinds. I don't know that many people to share them with here. But there are other options for sharing here like the Sheriff's Dept, Fire Dept, Assisted Living center, and some others, too.

You form them in a ball, then press down the center to make a place to put in jam or jelly.

Well, while they resemble thumbprint cookies these are in fact Linzer cookies - 2 shaped cookies pressed together with a filling of jam, Nutella, fruit butter or any similar filling. The shapes are cut with linzer cutters, but in the absence of these one can use any cookie cutter and then use a smaller one to cut an opening into the top cookie. The Linzer torte is of Austrian origin and has a lattice on top
