I agree. I hate grits. Guess that's because I wasn't raised in the South. Raised in Chicago and Massachusetts.

Sugar and butter helps them a lot. that is how we ate them as kids as a cereal. that's still the only way I can eat them.

I agree about grits and okra. I hate both of them.

Oh, yeah, Elijah. Okra and grits are nasty. Covering them with cheese would just waste the cheese.

I love grits! They can be hard to cook. If they are cooked right, they don't have a 'gritty" taste. My mother's family are from the south though; so I was brought up with it. I always cooked mine with butter, cheese, and bacon bits. The problem with grits is that they have no flavor, so the trick is to add things to it to make it taste well. I also like okra. Another tricky thing to cook! My mother never liked okra though, she called it "snot and boogers". Which sounds gross!

But a very apt description - think I would have liked your mother lol. Hugs.

I think she would of liked you too! Hugs and blessings!
Made stuffed shells last night, with ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan (and spinach and artichoke hearts). I think swiss would have worked as well as mozzarella. In fact, I like it better.
It's still cheese through the hole thing.
Reminds me of the bird run over by a mower and became shredded tweet. With that comment, I'll fly out of here.
God bless you all.

That joke was wished on me me by my sister's violin teacher a good 45 years ago.
On second thought --- we would miss you. Fly back in and have more pun with us!
