Never did learn how to ski! Didn't do much ice skating either. Was too young when we lived in Chicago and when we moved to Massachusetts, the weather wasn't as cold as it is now. Ice never froze long enough to do much skating.
A ski slope near KC? Jamie T, when I lived in KC, we had to drive all the way to Denver if we wanted to ski!

It's near Weston, called Snow Creek. The vertical drop is 299 feet (91 meters). It opened in 1985.

Reminds me of an old cartoon...A man standing on skis on totally flat ground. The caption read, "Ski Kansas! " Sorry, I'm from Colorado and it makes me giggle...

I remember those Ski Kansas cartoons - supposedly, the highest point in Kansas is a marker in a field near the Colorado border. Parts of Eastern Kansas has hills, plus there are the Flint Hills, but nothing like close to what's in this puzzle.

I've been to that marker, many years ago. Born & Lived in G.B., Ks. then later on before coming down here near Ulysses for a couple of years before hubby co. sent us here in '83. That is were it is really flat...but some of the locals that did flat land skiing. You could see them sometimes since you could see for miles in that area.

I know - I went to KU in Lawrence. Very not flat around the campus - especially my walk the last year. There had to have been at least a 100 foot increase in elevation from the bottom of the hill to the top.

That's were my mom went, I went to KWU in Salina, Dad & Brother went to K-State, also brother's wife & my husband's brother. Dad was in the Milling Business so we traveled all over KC, usually in KC at least once a year. Have a cousin the lives in Abilene that was involved with the Eisenhower Library. I did live in Topeka for a couple of years. I've been on that campus & walked them too. We camped at Wilson Lake at lot for fishing, not flat in that area either.
Love to ski - used to ski when I was a kid. Even took lessons - was given as a xmas gift. Would spend most of the day outside skiing. It's been awhile since I've been skiing.
There is a ski slope near Kansas City, not very big, but supposedly a decent place to learn how to ski.
God bless you all and keep your souls white as snow.
God bless all of you. Hugs.
