Large oak trees are dotted throughout the pastures pictured in this online jigsaw puzzle. Low hills, open space, and green grass creates the perfect environment for horses to safely roam.
I absolutely love oak trees, they are so full of character with their strong, knarled, spreading branches. After my family they are one of the things I miss most about California, we don't have them here where I live. Everyone be safe.
Not to be a party pooper darambo, but we have oak trees galore and they are truly majestic, until Fall and you have to rake, and rake, and rake their leaves and also get rid of them in the compost. It's quite a project for a month or two. Lazy person speaking.

Wow, I thought oak trees were practically everywhere. Well, except the desert.

Just like maples, there are several kinds. We have one across the street nothing like this one but I love the colors the leaves turn in the fall--nothing bright but lots of subtle hues.
On L.I. where I grew up there were pin oaks. Nothing pretty about those.

1HATESIGHINGIN you are not being a party pooper but we own 41 acres of oak trees in California west of Redding so I am well aware some of them loose their leaves and the work they require. Live Oaks do not loose their leaves. Pixi you are right pin oaks are not as pretty. KarenBuglet we only have pines and quaking aspens here. I live in the mountains above 4000 feet, it is the high desert on the eastern side of the Cascades because we live in a rain shadow( most of the rain stays west of the mountain range ) so I do also live in the desert. Very sandy soil here not sure if it's because of the desert or because it's a volcanic mountain range that stretches from northern California thru Washington. Sorry about the school lesson didn't mean for it to sound like that. You all have a safe and wonderful day. P.S. don't forget about the acorns too 1HATESIGNINGIN.

I love the school lessons - always fun to learn about other places. Here in central Florida we have oaks, but they don't drop their leaves until February. Hardly had any acorns this year. Last year there were a ton of them.

KarenBuglet didn't know you had oaks in central Florida, but I guess they are pretty much everywhere if they are at the right altitude. Would rather deal with their leaves than the acorns, hahaha!! Been to Florida once, on the eastern coast, got to play on the beach for a little while. I have an uncle who lives in Boca Raton and a cousin in Tampa. Be safe.
I agree but not today. It is 94 out at 12:30 here in VA off my back deck. The heat index is very high. Stay cool and have a blessed day.

@mamag15 Thank you. My day was very good. I hope you stayed cool inside where you are. It was 84 degrees earlier today where I'm at here in MO with heavy thunderstorms. Well, today is a new day that the Lord has made. May you have a blessed day and God bless you. :)
Beautiful colour contrasts at the hands of the Master Painter.
