Update to all my prayer warriors: my son-in-law, John has finally gotten his PET scan and is tentatively scheduled for surgery on Dec. 15 For those who are not aware, he has esophageal cancer and has had to fight the insurance every step of the way for his treatments. The chemo and radiation have not been effective and surgery is the only hope he has. To complicate things he has heart problems that had first made him not a candidate for surgery. I believe God will be with him and his doctors all they way to a successful recovery!
I just noticed this post, nlb. Prayers coming now for your son's full recovery.

Just got the latest on my son-in-law, John. His cancer has spread and they will not be able to do the surgery. They are giving him six months to a year.

Oh nlb, I'm so sorry to hear this. I was thinking about John just this morning, wondering how he was doing. Prayers for the strength for John and all his loved ones to meet the days and months ahead. God be with each of you.

Nlb, I am SO sorry to hear this; it must be devastating to all of you. May John be granted the inner peace and acceptance of this and may all of you be held in the arms of God.
It used to be so much fun when we had a vegetable patch to put all the ripe veggies out on a board and see them all together. I think these days to get a variety of gourds like this you have to buy each type as a separate seed packet. Years ago seeds were cheap and you could get almost anything to grow that way. Now the seeds are counted out in 5's and 10's and divided and only a few things still come as a seed. Most stuff is sold as a plant. Too expensive and not nearly the fun! Ah the good old days. I'm showing my age!
Happy day before Thanksgiving. Prayers that all goes well tomorrow and everyone gets back and forth safely.
Such beautiful gourds! Going out to eat with the family--not sure how many--my sister likes to take charge of that stuff! However, have a wonderful day tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it.

Hugs to you also.
