I took a walking tour of the bridge and walked across way up on the top crossing of it. Quite a mechanical marvel too.

Such an interesting and historic bridge. The lower bridge rises for river travel - the top bridges are for pedestrians, but was closed off for decades because of crimes taking place in the stairwells and on the pedestrian bridges.

These type bridges are my favorites to see. They speak of majestic design and power. Hard to put into words, but I adore these type bridges.
