Eveningstar--what about the prominent clock saying it is 7:40. Ok all you crazy puzzlers is it a mystery? a clue? a message from aliens? (ha-ha). So let's speculate, shall we?

The shop closes at 8:00 then the shopkeeper will be able to take these beautiful flowers to the one who has been waiting in breathless anticipation for their loving reuniun. (sappy or what? )

At precisely 7:45 the man would pick up the flowers. He would have already have purchased the wine into which the vial of poison hidden carefully among the blooms would be poured. The woman had no idea what was come her way. She only thought the attractive man she met last night was taking her to dinner...

Nlbuchanan--great start to our mystery jigsaw-OK, we're all waiting for more--does he mean to poison the woman he met last night, is the poison for him b/c she is so beautiful, did he find out this beautiful flirt is married to some mogul? We're ALL waiting to hear more. C'mon nlb! Was he going to poison their food or their wine? What happens if both food and/or wine get switched by server? You are great at writing. Will you share your royalties with all of us or simply dedicate the tale to us? You heard aknan "waiting for the next line". me too--you have the talent...give it to us!

Sorry, that's your "teaser". You will have to wait until the book is published to read the rest. And BayGrannie, you need to read more carefully or you will never solve the mystery. I've already told you the poison was to be poured into the wine. lol. I did think about writing for publication once but didn't have the confidence to try to push through the hurdles of getting an agent, finding a company willing to take a chance on a newbie, etc. And my ego could never have taken being told to rewrite a passage. All my great stories still hiding in my head!

Nlb- okay for no royalties, but could I be your manager? YOU DO HAVE TALENT!! Here's another teaser--It was the morning after Valentine's Day. The Flower Shop was getting ready to open for all those last minute shoppers. Owner of shop had just unlocked the front door w/ assistant & driver. Her financial advisor also dropped by to see profit/loss statement. It wouldn't balance & so the hunt for the reason began...The clerk, Hank, found the slightly wilted bouquet on the table next to the timecard check in & out. He said nothing because he had been in jail for larceny. The owner, Delphina, was next to find the bouquet, but after checking it, found out the bouquet was lopsided, not only wilted. She certainly didn't want her VERY handsome invester, Alister, to see her less than professional work. Delphina quickly grabbed her laptop & wrote in an entry that would have transpired right at closing time. Alister was pleased everythingchecked out & told Delphina he was off to the beach to see his model girlfriend & asked Hank if he could simply take the tulips from the table. Did Alister know there was a bottle of poison cleverly hidden in one of the tulips or not?

I dunno. My brain isn't writing today. It's making an apron without a pattern. nlb

On second thought: Alister knew the poison was there. He had paid Delphina's assistant handsomely to make the bouguet and hide the poison in it. He then asked Hank to remove it so Hank would be caught with the poison and arrested. With his criminal history, it would be an open and shut case.Alister had just discovered that Hank was secretly planning to run away with the model Alister was currently having a fling with. While Alister and the model enjoyed the "pleasures of the flesh" for her and Hank it was true love and Alister could not allow anyone to have what he could not!

Keep it up, you two! You could co-author this tale.
