My brother loved grizzly bears and brown bears. Plus, he was a partial look-alike to Grizzly Adams. So I nicknamed him "Grizzly Rick" and considered him my 'grizzly brother'. We had FUN with that. He's up in Heaven as of December 10, 2006 painting those grizzly bears. I asked God today, also, to give him a nice warm hug of my sisterly teddy bear love.
Beautiful creatures.
I could do with some prayer, friends. The holidays are always a hard time for me, but this year it seems to be hitting me harder than normal. I am standing against it but it's not easy. TIA.
I will pray for you. Before and after Christmas were always hard for me.

Orinoco, the holidays are always dicey; emotions run close to the surface and are easily bruised. My prayers to you for strength and peace.

Prayers going up for you. I had trouble in the winter/holiday time until a doctor told me I needed more light during that season. After that I got outside more, even to sit on the patio and read, as well as leaving some lights on in the house. It really helped. Also, vitamin D was added because I was low, as are most people. Prayers are for you during this hard time

Orinoco stop standing and relax away from it. You don't have to prove anything. Distract yourself. Spoil yourself with something you always put off doing. Make up a new holiday just for yourself and create a new kind of celebration. Join a club or drop in on a friend you miss but haven't seen in a while. Like I told Maryhelen--don't look back.
Prayers coming your way now.

I hope everything goes well for everyone going through a tough holiday season - it can be a difficult time for many - it's not just the holidays, the lack of sun can also be a problem.

Thank you my friends, like the old spiritual says, "I didn't hear nobody pray" but I know several people did, by the effects! I cut some strips for a new quilt yesterday and that helped too. Starphyrre, I hope that's a prophetic word!

Jamie and rah-rah...good advice. I double my vit. D in the winter and try to get outside even if it's just to walk around the yard. That always helps.

Orinoco and Mary Helen ---- Do something for someone else you know could use a lift. It will help both the giver and the receiver. Make a meal for both of you and take it and have dinner together.
I wonder if the darker brown bear is wooing the lighter brown bear before hibernation and adding a couple of young brown bears to the population of brown bears.
C'mon honey. Says below you're supposed to be wild. Let's bare it all and get wild together,
I thought bears hibernated in the winter. Who woke them up? She still looks sleepy to me.
Wishing you all shelter from the weather.
