These are such adorable little creatures. Have a blessed day. There was an explosion at a some kind of chemical factory near to us and the sky is full of a dark black cloud from the fire that is still burning. The school that is a quarter of a mile from our house is the evacuation site. So far, no evacuations for us and no ash falling from cloud. I'm keeping my husband in the house since he has breathing problems. He isn't happy.
Is this the explosion in IL that I saw on the news last night? I'm so sorry nhoward. Am I remembering correctly that you also had a knee replacement recently? Hoping the air is clear(er) today and that you're ok.

It is much clearer today, and they are doing an excellent job of cleaning up. I don't know if the fires have been put out, but there is no more HUGE black cloud in the sky. I am doing well with the replacement. They have taken me off physical therapy and my doctor is happy, so that is that! Thanks for asking, xyxyxyxx!
Brava, excellent, aussie. Thank you so much for sharing this lovely poem.

Listening to silence is the great healer. It opens your heart to the stillness of God. Thanks, aussie.

Beautiful poem Aussie. I love listening to the silence in the morning watching God's creatures playing and romping around. Such a sentimental gesture of God's love, listening to the silence.
"I love you too, my brother."
LISTEN TO THE SILENCE
By Hazel King
Listen to the silence...
As the night covers
Everything in it's way
With a black velvety mantle
Closing out the day.
Listen to the silence....
The stillness and quiet
Just before dawn
Two lovers embracing
Bodies spent and warm.
Listen to the silence....
Amidst forests green
Leafy covered ground,
Birds calling softly
Tranquility abounds.
Listen to the silence...
Under green rippling waters
Beneath the ocean deep,
Brilliant coloured swaying coral
Where sand and water meet.
Listen to the silence...
As a hot air balloon
So swiftly glides,
Interrupted occasionally
By the burner's mournful cries.
Listen to the silence...
When life is difficult
And things are hard
Don't just listen to the silence
Also listen to your heart
For the silence is a balm
Which helps to ease the pain,
It covers and enfolds
Puts you on your feet again.
And the troubles that prevail
A distant memory soon will be
And peace will soothe your mind
If you just wait and see,
And listen to the silence....
