No, actually because I have mild synasthesia. Sounds have shape, and sometimes colour; conversely, colours have a "feeling" to them.

I've heard of the yellow ones. I think the ones with the yellow lines are Zucchini blossoms. Saw a chef on tv where she used these in cooking. She put some kind of cheese inside and then fried them.

Yum.

We used to slice up the yellow and green zucchini with butter and onions. We used slice pita bread like a bagel and make pizzas. Toast the pita bread and then put the veggies on top and then mozzarella cheese. So yummy!

My "yum" was for nlb's squash saute'd in butter with mushrooms, onions and garlic.

I've had squash blossoms before - wasn't crazy about them.

The yellow zucchini are a bit firmer than the yellow squash and crookneck. They seem to last longer after picking, too. Try one sometime in your recipe for something different. I bet you'll like the taste.

Can't say I have ever seen any in stores around here. Zucchini is grown here in the summer that people have so much they can't give it away. But nobody grows yellow Zucchini. I wonder why.

Mine is completely white and female. A twelve year old rescue from a horrible breeder when the SPCA seized 32 dogs with malnutrition, mange, and dehydration, etc. She was well trained by a volunteer, as far as commands and walks. We have had Emma Lou over 8 years, and she is loving, but still has socialization issues, as rescues often have. Peeing in the house can sometimes be a problem, but she often tries to go on the paper. When people ask if one has been brought up in a barn, they are asking about these 32 Jack Russells. Of course she is conflicted about where to relieve herself. We try to keep her on a schedule if we are home, but otherwise...

Hope you don't mind, I had to change my icon to look like Mandy. She is also a rescue dog that I have had about eight years but seems to have had a much better life. She was very well trained - to the point of knowing the meaning of "out of the kitchen". She was found wandering the streets then stayed at the findeers home for a couple weeks before going to the humane society for just a couple more weeks before I adopted her.

Retirenow, we also have a rescue, a mini-dachshund. In Feb of 2015 he ruptured a disc and couldn't move his hind quarters including his tail. Fortunately I am retired and at home and was able to give him constant care and strengthening exercises and he started improving. By last Sept he was walking, a little wobbly at first but now does great. However, his ordeal left him incontinent. One of the things we've done is to buy a "belly band" for him. (You can do an internet search for them.) That way our rugs and floors stay free of urine. You might give a belly band a go for Emma Lou.

Ah, we puzzle fanciers must love our dogs to work with them so much. I will look up the belly band option. She only pees if she is mad, if we are gone more than 4 hours, or right before bedtime if I am late taking her outside. Thank you for your help, trynfindit!

Oh, and when you buy a belly band the web site will probably have some "pads" you can buy as well. We just buy an appropriate sized sanitary napkin from the grocery.

Never did bars except for the night I met my husband and maybe 2 other times b4 that. Never did happy hour anyway.

You're right about the happy hour buffets, JamieT. I think you and I might be the major cause of those buffets going away - too many of us got our free dinners there!

Pixi, I'm with you about the salad. If someone brings me a salad with just lettuce, tomatoes and some cucumber I wonder where the rest of the salad is.

I'm with you on the gymnastics, and they're doing really well this year. One thing I noticed, and I've wondered if anyone else has, is that Michael Phelps seems very full of himself this year. He has reason to be proud, for sure, but he's taking it further than that. I've only watched him once, but I was put off by his demeanor.

Pixi I haven't detected a difference in taste between the yellow and green squashes. The yellow makes a nice splash of color. I enjoy both of them steamed with a little butter.

We've been watching them every evening, enjoy all three events, also have watched some the bike races.
I think that we enjoy the swimming the most our kids were in it in their younger days, so we are somewhat as
to be that good. Also have enjoyed some of the diving.

PS. We have 6 different channels that we can watch different things on thru out the afternoon and evening times. ("versed" should be before as)

Rahrah, I think Michael Phelps has been through SO MUCH when he started to self-destruct that, having regained his sense of self and life, he is in overdrive mode. Have patience and enjoy his renewed sense of love and self.

The difference is subtle, pixipixil. The yellow ones are softer, a little mellower.

Trynfindit, I think you're right, I watched as he received his 22 gold medal this evening, and he didn't appear to the as troubled as he had been. He really has been through a lot, thanks for reminding me, I need to be more gracious and less judgmental. :)

My problem is my husband will only pay for the cheapest cable so we are stuck with only the prime time free coverage. Also we have a big trip coming up and I can only afford a little time on the games and can't sit through to the gymnastics at 10:30 pm. I'm too tired to stay up so I've missed a lot but watched other things I was not so keen on. It's just frustrating. Many years ago ABC covered all the events of most of the competitions. You got to see everybody not just the top 3 or 4. And it was free. I tried to get it online but my cable company nixed it. Besides the gymnasts I like the diving and the kayak slalom. Haven't seen the men gymnasts. Maybe the TV is only covering what we win. I heard they didn't do well.

Green peppers always appealed to me, but when I aged my gut was upset by them. A friend told me that was because the green ones are not ripe. The yellow, orange, and red peppers are much more easily digested. I actually think they taste much better, also.

The one male gymnast I was really for actually broke his leg! It was awful. As soon as he landed it snapped. Of course the incident was shown, and it was so heartbreaking. Yes, the girls are doing much better. I always liked the games more when ABC had them, and there was such a feeling of unity. I remember as a kid, we'd all gather around the tv and shout to encourage the athletes on to victory! We'd get hoarse from all that shouting, and then when they'd win, we'd wear ourselves out from the celebrating. lol Good memories.

Then you have the right puzzle name. When I was a skater and still a junior member we loved to cheer ourselves hoarse for our dance teams. We skated on rollers, not ice.
