I'm still having a happy childhood. I have no intentions of growing up. I have been having a happy childhood for 77 years now.

I agree, PW. I may be aging, but no one says I have to be maturing!

I'm with you PW. I haven't decided what I want to be if I ever grow up. My granddaughter says I'm her & her brothers Nannie & that's what I was meant to be. That girl is wise beyond her years

Start a new childhood. Don't allow the past to ruin the present or the future. I never left my first childhood, but you can begin anew where you are.

One can always pick up the pieces, so to speak, and move on which is what has been done. But there are scars and deep hurts which don't go away so easily.

Good advice PW. Hugs.

You are right trynfindit - just have to keep working on it and forgive the person who caused these scars no matter how long ago it was. Hugs.

Trynfindit, I would never minimize the scars and deep hurts which you experienced. Even if you heal from your childhood experiences, the scars will still be there. What I was trying to say is, we can let the past shape the present, or we can decide that we are not the person we were in the past because we have learned from it how to become a better person than the one who inflicted the pain on us. Is it easy? Of course not! Don't let anyone tell you that it is. Is it worth the effort, YES!
Every experience I have gone through in life has taught me lessons - the good and the bad things that have happened. When I go through a difficult time, I ask myself, "What can I learn from this experience? " rather that why am I going through this.
I am sure that Jesus carried His scars back to heaven when He ascended. But by His stripes we are healed. I am praying for you. A lot of people on this site care about you.

I have tried to think of a nice way to say, 'let's just leave this alone.' No offense.
I noticed that only part of it has gone to pot. The rest still looks healthy, though. It has bean a good year for veggies, and I'm not stringing you along. And with all the puns on this site, it's bean a good year for corn also.

"Cherish all your happy moments; they make a fine cushion for old age." Booth Tarkington
Take care and God bless. Hugs.
