I know THAT feeling, AS. When you've had GOOD neighbours, you hope the ones who take their place are just as good. When you have LOUD neighbours, you hope the next ones are quieter. We have all quiet ones now. I hope that continues.

You all can have the neighbors on my right....not so nice...they complain about my bird talking and much more....my bird is inside!!! But the ride up in their motorcycles @ 3am...don't get me wrong I love motorcycles but not @ 3am. Yet I never complained.....some people have nothing better to do then complain....they need to get a real life.

I am so glad we got to move out of our old trailer park. I love the trailer we are in now. There is one young couple that lives next to us but far enough so we all still have our privacy. We can see each other but trees separate the line. They are so sweet. We have a little over 5 acres so we can hunt outback, nice deck for barbecuing, and I can make a hiking path. LOVE it. Hope you get good neighbors Aussie like I have. The young man even offered to help us with our yard word, shoveling snow and raking leaves. God has answered our prayers after 4 years.

Thank you all for your prayers. They have an offer on their home from two female investors which means they are looking to rent the home out. Some tenants can be great, then there are others that are the tenants from hell. Just hoping for quiet neighbours. Hugs.

Hoping and praying that you get nice new neighbors!
I don't think I've seen any birds with a bill like this, even in photos, before this. According to what appears to be the main source of information on the internet, Wikipedia, These birds forage in shallow brackish water or on mudflats, often scything their bills from side to side in water (a feeding technique that is unique to the avocets).
They were extinct in Britain as of 1840, but reintroduced in 1947 in Suffolk.
I can't imagine that bird in a Pie. You would need a large pie pan and a lot of dough to make the crust - and you can take the word dough either way. lol
Yeah I had a hilarous situation when I attempted to order a pie one week before Thanksgiving. I told the clerk I wanted a dutch apple and he thought I said duck apple. I even spelled the word dutch. I finally had to get the mgr. to help me. Then he got the bakery mgr. he opened up a pie and let us taste a pie. Everyone thinks this story is hilarous!
Wonder what tight spot it stuck its beak into that caused it to get bent like that. It really should be more careful. I guess if you are hungry enough you will follow that fish wherever it goes.
God bless you all and may He keep you out of tight situations.
You put the right foot out
You do the hokey pokey
And you shake it all about
LOL - couldn't resist folks.
I am losing my neighbours of 15 years and would value you prayers that I will get nice quiet people next door.
Take care and God bless. Hugs.
