Guess Christmas starts tomorrow for some people! Not me. The only thing that might go up this weekend is my Christmas tree that I put in the front window--all decorated! My cats do not disturb it. They lay around it.
Would be nice to spend Christmas on the Beach with Mr. "Sandman." Neat puzzle!!!!! Spending my Christmas Eve. catching up on all my un-worked Jigsaw Puzzles!!
That is the cutest snowman I've seen. It has been snowing and very cold here for 4 days. We have 2-3 feet of snow. How has the rest of you that are being affected by this double artic vortex doing? How much snow are you getting and how cold has it been? Everyone be safe on the icy roads.
That's quite a bit of snow. We had, I think, a couple of inches, but before it started to snow, it was misting, so there's ice on the roads and sidewalks under the snow.

JamieT yes it is a lot of snow, but we live at a high elevation about 30 miles from Mt. Bachelor ski resort in Oregon. Where are you at? Hope you don't get much ice or snow on your roads, so very dangerous. We had rain before the snow, so there is ice under the snow. Asking because the news doesn't ever get the weather right. Be safe.

We've had freezing rain and some snow and a few really cold days but Christmas is looking to be rainy and mild. I'm in the Southern part of Ohio (Cincinnati).

I live in Michigan and we have very cold tempt have been like 6 at night and 18 during the day. lots of accidents south of us around Grand Rapids area. We sit in a hollow so didn't get some of the snow they predicted. But we have a few feet. Definitely going to be a white Christmas! In 2 weeks we head south to Alabama to Orange Beach, so I will look for the remains of this snowman when I walk the shores! Road where clear to church this morning but last Wednesday church was cancelled because of ice and blowing snow. We live in the country so lots of back roads.

Very little snow here, just a dusting, but cold only 16 here but feels like 6 w/wind. Think tomorrow morning it will be 6, then it show get better for the rest of the week. We have to keep water running overnight to keep pipes from freezing when it get this cold. Have not had temps. this low for a number of years.

We have had enough snow! About 2 feet in some areas. Today is a bit warmer, about 14, but feels like -2 with wind. Tomorrow is supposed to be -7, feeling like -14. I live near Ottawa, Ontario and am not a fan of winter!!

We got about 2 - 3 inches throughout the day. Last nite or real early this morning, it was about a -9. Sun shinning now, but still in the teens.

Sunday here in central Texas we were 25 degrees after dropping Saturday afternoon from 74 to 20 degrees that night. CatladyOK we have to drip our faucets too. I was hoping we wouldn't get this cold this early yet. We had no rain, sleet, freezing rain or snow so I guess we can't complain. Be safe everyone! My the good Lord bless you all!

Darambo - I'm in Kansas City, Missouri. A lot of the school districts surrounding the metro are closed today because of the underlying ice on the roads.

Oh, JamieT, I remember those KC ice storms! Had to chip my car loose at the airport one night - covered in ice. Took 2 hours to bet home to Belton that night.

Sounds like everyone is in the same boat as far as the weather goes so everyone please be safe on the roads. JamieT our schools very seldom close instead we have late start days. We are used to this, happens every year here. Puzzlelover20 we have to drip our faucets also even tho they are insulated. Gets very cold here on top of this mountain. You all be safe

Learned another tidbit we tied our coldest temp since they have on record here, but also that was only 78 years ago, expect there are states that have been keeping records longer than here.
Love the idea of a snowman made of sand, shells, etc. We have the real stuff here but I don't feel like making a snowman after shoveling yesterday. Maybe later but we're supposed to have heavy rain and thunder later today. Crazy weather!
In New York, too. ctjan. I should have realized the ct was for Connecticut but I looked up the icon to see where you live.

Since everyone is talking about the weather...here in Nor Cal we have a beautiful blue sky and sunshine but the temperature did not get above the forties F yesterday. When the wind came up, as it does most evenings, it was enough to make us think of snow, but then, we are wimps when it comes to cold weather.

Nor Cal also. I work graveyard shift in an unheated building.
down to 30 last night and in the mid 20s tonight. I wear ski clothes, but because we make food items, I have to wear cold rubber gloves. Good news is that so far, none of the ski resorts have had to make snow; even after the warm rain last week melted most of what was there. Bad news is that the new snow on top of the ice make for avalanche conditions.

No. I tried it, but I'm just not balanced enough. Did more sliding down on my behind than schussing down on the skis.
