I think it would be a lot of fun to be on one of those gondolas. Unfortunately, I never left the U.S. for a vacation (except for a day in Canada). Spent most of my young adult life raising my children, and never could afford an overseas trip when I was older.

I have not been to Venice, but we were close and considered going across the Adriatic Sea from (the former) Yugoslavia for a few days. But --- that trip was so good we didn't want to miss and of it!
Now the spirit has more pep than the body!!!
