When we climbed up to walk on the dunes, it was a most unusual feeling --- you could not see the surrounding territory --- only white sand --- and we felt we were on the moon!!!
As we arrived, there was a snow plow clearing sand from the road so there would be more parking space --- for the "Full Moon Dune Walk" that evening. I'm sure the full moon lit up the white sands spectacularly. Don't miss it!
Beautiful view, but heat does not agree with my heart condition. Few areas of the country offer moderate temperatures anymore. I guess upstate NY is actually not a bad place to live in retirement. Who would ever have guessed that?
My CatLady buddy--Have to agree w/you about present day climate--Give me the ocean & lots of waves--that will make it loads of fun!

Cool temps would be great, has been hot here!
Think we are all set for the wedding, get my hair fixed, hubby will pick up the wheelchair Fri. pm. and looks like we are going to miss the rain Sat. am, but we will have to get up early for us we have to be there by 9:30 am. It's will be about a 45 min. drive. Will be glad when this is all over, maybe I can get a short nap in the afternoon. We are looking at possible severe storms Fri. night over night, which means the weather radios will go off until they get by us.

Oh, I am so happy for you! It definitely will BE a change & change is sometimes hard. But you are a fighter & have a little wine when you get there...Ask a daughter or niece to put a little makeup on your face. These kids today really knowhow to do that! Snip a little flower & tuck in front of your ear. Wear all the bling you own. Act like Queen Elizabeth & surprize the "Whole Gang". MOST of all--smile, smile, smile. They are contagious. Have fun you all & stay safe. Grannie
I've been here! It is White Sands, New Mexico!! My favorite place on the planet!! We had a picnic on top of one of the sand dunes. They plow the sand like we do snow in the Midwest. Definitely need sunglasses because the sand is blinding!!

Beautiful white sand, looks like snow. Hope everyone has been well, I have been gone having surgery on my back. I can't sit for more than 45 minutes. Be safe and happy.

Darambo, hope your surgery was successful and that you find relief. My hubby has had several back surgeries including a fusion (and he's due for another fusion) so I know what kind of pain you suffer. Prayers for a full recovery.

Thank you for the prayers. This is the second surgery I've had and the doctor said I should be prepared for more of them in the future. Anyways glad to be up and moving around more. Be safe everyone.
Hue-where are you from? Place those batteries in correct charge connection & let the air conditioning force give you immediate relief!

Was only 97 here in my part of Nor Cal today. That's still plenty hot! I suspect where this picture was taken in New Mexico, it was pretty near as hot as you are, Hue44.
