Agree - That is a nice place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee in the am. Pfft - Hubby is often complaining to me - gawd I feel like I'm in an episode of Seinfeld. I felt really terrible for one young girl one day. I was living in a mgr. apt. and she and her fiance knocked on my door late one night. Then two weeks later I hear news that the fiance was killed in a construction accident. While working on that floor I saw the young girl in the door way. I said hello and gave her my condolences!

As you set there working your puzzle, is your house all sparkling clean? Do you need to load your dishwasher and start some laundry.? Do you have any dust laying around? Well, that's the way it is at my house right now. I get up in the morning and feed my doggie, fix my cappuccino and sit right here until I've gone through the newspaper to check and see if I'm in the obits or not then my emails and puzzles. But you know what? I don't have to answer to anyone. I live with my dog and we do what we please, when we please. Now if I were going to expect company I could make it look pretty clean. I'm a procrastinator, plus I've worked hard all my life with my hubby and raising my four kiddo's plus I had a job outside the home for twenty two years. ( my house was cleaner when I worked then when I'm home. Don't you think I deserve a little lazy time?

I'm with you, Jingles. Done my time raising kids, working, and taking care of the house, going to school and never missing a Scout function, play, etc. Now, I only have to please myself and my husband who never complains--he knows how hard I have worked.

ABSOLUTELY, you DO! I didn't go to work (for a salary, that is) until I was 40. With 8 children. it was a job just PREPARING to get out of the house each morning. LOL

I sure do think you deserve a LOT of lazy time! Me too! And I only had 1 child, but there were always friends over, and a few of them I called my own.

Sounds good to me too, but I do have a question. What happens if you see your name in the newspaper?

You certainly deserve lazy time ---- and I do too. I am of the same mind. No one is going to check daily with the white glove test! Rest, relax and enjoy --- and give your doggie a loving pat from me.

Yes Jingles, you do deserve some lazy time as did all of us who worked most of our lives. And don't forget now it takes twice as long to do things as it did when we were younger lol. Hugs.

Lovely place to sit and read.

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." —Harold Whitman

The people -- the people -- are the rightful masters of both congresses, and courts -- not to overthrow the constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert it.
--September 16 and 17, 1959 Notes for Speeches at Columbus and Cincinnati (Abraham Lincoln)

Good night and God bless. Hugs.

Unfortunately, Lincoln's words are very true, but few seem willing to overthrow those who are perverting the Constitution.

Did Abraham Lincoln write these notes for speeches he gave in 1959. Or were his notes used for speeches given by others in 1959? Or perhaps your sources made a mistake on the date. Bless you, aussie. And many hugs back to you.

I agree Aussie! I look at it and it seems to have just the right lighting and I can imagine the sun shining through the curtains and the wind gently blowing and tickling me! All it needs to complete the picture is a good book to get lost in!

Hi nlb, I was of the impression that they were extracts from speeches/letters by Abraham Lincoln but could have been a typo with the date. Hugs.

Just having one of those days when everything seemed crazy so I was nit-picking. Who really cares about the date? It is the profound words that are of importance. (The craziness in my life today is all good, majorly surprising, and leaves many unanswered questions that don't need to be answered right now but I WANT them to be answered right now.) God bless and many hugs to you. Thanks for putting up with my nonsense.

Interesting. I wonder how often those curtains will need to be washed or does the owner expect the rains to wash the curtains for him or her? The lawn and trees look pretty lush, so there's not a drought unless this porch overlooks a golf course.
