I'd appreciate prayer tomorrow morning as I will be in for anterior hip replacement. This is a new procedure, at least around here (Northern IN.) I probably will be in only overnight, then home, not to rehab. I have some concerns that it isn't going to be as simple as they are saying. Thanks so much. I'm not sure when I can get back on here.
Coravee, the anterior replacement is much easier on you than the posterior (that's what I've had) and I think you'll be amazed at how quickly you'll heal. I used a walker for a week and a cane for 2 months, mainly to keep me steady on icy walkways. Praying that you will have the same good results!

Hate icy walkways - I definitely recall those walkways and falls. Ugh - Today would was my aunts bday. I have a doc appt. tomorrow - one doc wants to do cat scan of my stomach. Sending prayers for a quick healing. I have a relative in IN and hubby has one in IN as well. Wonder how long it took for you to drive again with hip surgery. If I have major surgery I won't be driving for 2 weeks.

Thanks, everyone! The surgeon said it was in terrible shape (I actually felt like it would break at any moment) but he was able to get the socket set alright. Within a couple of hours they had me walking arounf the nurses station! and home the next day. Pain is controlled (sort of) by only motrin and Tylenol. I can only use stairs once a day, and can't drive for 2 weeks. Since it was my left leg, I expect I could drive fine if I needed to. I will still use a walker and cane because of knees and back, but it is such a relief to be done with the pain and the fragility of the old hip. So many thanks for the prayers to our wonderful Lord.

Glad to hear that you're feeling better. Oh wow only Motrin for pain. I recall when I broke my hand - I was on very strong pain meds. I could drive but wasn't comfotable driving. The pain meds made me drowsy.

I'm glad I haven't broken any bones, and I am putting off any surgery that would require more than this. Yesterday they told me I could resume normal activity gradually. As I'm so arthritic my normal activity isn't much, I think I almost resumed it today! Spent several hours in my container garden :)
& go to the beach! Have a Great Day!
